Dr. Neal Brackett

DVM

Owner, Veterinarian

Dr. Neal Brackett grew up wandering the fields and pastures of his family’s farm on the banks of West Armuchee Creek North of Rome. He graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine at The University of Georgia before completing a residency at the University of Missouri-Columbia. While at Mizzou, Dr. Brackett participated in advanced research that led to a patented surgical procedure and the first successful transplant of the bovine immune system into immune-deficient mice.

Dr. Brackett chose to return to private practice because he enjoys helping pet owners understand how to improve the lives of pets that suffer common everyday health problems. He has been helping the pets of Northwest Georgia live longer and more comfortably for over 25 years. During this time he served as the President of the North West Georgia Veterinary Association for over 10 years.

Away from the clinic, Dr. Brackett has been active in the local community and professional theatre. He has managed over a dozen productions for The Rome Little Theatre and The River Arts District Playhouse. Many of these plays have been under the direction of Virginia McChesney the daughter of Dr. Gerald Harry McChesney that originally founded North Broad Animal Clinic under the name Rome Dog & Cat Clinic. Dr. Brackett also periodically appears on area stages in dramas and musicals.

As of November 2022, Dr. Brackett celebrates his 25th Silver Anniversary in veterinary care!
